(Ed. Note: Last week, we here at XFLMVP ran our first weekly edition of Ask Ike, a chance to get answers to life’s important questions by Ike Taylor, whose personal website gives Ike’s fans a chance to E-mail questions for him to answer. Slash and myself felt like the people of Steeler Nation deserve to get the answers to some REAL questions by Ike, not an inane question about how he prepares for a game. With that in mind, we vow to send Ike one question per week until we get an answer. To read the first edition of Ask Ike, click here.)
Well, on the heels of a Super Bowl win, it’d be wrong of us to expect an answer from Mr. Taylor on our first question, dealing with Throeau, politics and the current state of our nation’s economy.
Last Week’s Question:
“Looking down the barrel of a giant government bailout, one may be inclined to think briefly of Thoreau, who asks rhetorically, “Must the citizen ever for a moment, or in the least degree, resign his conscience to the legislator?” How would you answer this question, Ike?
- Long time fans, TG and Slash “
Of course, now that the off season has befallen Ike, he probably has time to catch up on his reading and correspondence. With that in mind, Slash and I have sent our second attempt at an answer from Ike. Ask Ike Part Deux can be found below –
Ike, as big fans of yours, my friend Slash and I would be honored if you would impart some wisdom upon us. We find ourselves, after much heated debate, at opposite ends of ideological standpoints regarding this situation.
Two counties in a state south of the Mason-Dixon are experiencing such an increase in population growth that all schools have quickly become overpopulated.
Do you feel it is wise, or even FAIR, to institute a school “impact-fee” that requires this new population to fork over the dollars to build new schools. Some have said the timing for this proposition is “absolutely horrible,” and that such a measure would be unconstitutional, unfair and even dangerous, as such a drastic response could cause a further rift in the already unstable economy?
Thank you for reading and we hope to hear from you soon.
TG and Slash
If we receive a response E-mail, the answer will be immediately posted on XFLMVP.Com. If not, we’ll see you here next week for Round 3 of “Ask Ike.”
Here we go.
